Carroll Alan Hagemeier

Carroll Alan Hagemeier, 87, of Nokomis, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Carroll was born December 19, 1936, at home in Morrisonville to Matilda (Bruns) and Oscar Hagemeier. He served in the Air Force and Air National Guard during the Berlin Crises and was honorably discharged in January 1966. He and Dorothy (Haake) married April 12, 1958, and have three daughters. Carroll was a farmer, truck driver and a good friend, father, and husband.

He is survived by his wife, brother Dwain (Betty) Hagemeier and three daughters, Michelle (Glenn) Petersen, Tammy (Mark) Bertolino and Gina (Don) Birrittier and 9 grandchildren, Aaron (Shandy) Bertolino, Glenn (Aleana) Petersen, Adam (Amanda) Bertolino, Andrew (Megan) Bertolino, Anna (Brice) Murphy, Austin (Abby) Bertolino, Miranda (Eric) Schmidt, Erick Petersen, Joey (Lexi) Birrittier and 24 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by Sister Donna (Orlan) Janssen and great granddaughter, Lia Marie Bertolino.

Carroll will be remembered as an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He will also be remembered for his love and dedication to his wife, family, and friends. He loved hearing and telling stories about his girls and grandkids. They were his pride and joy; but most of all his love for his wife. She was his constant companion and his true love. What a beautiful example they have set before us in their 66 years of marriage.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Nokomis with Reverend Christen Prumm officiating. Visitation begins at 9:00 am in the church preceding the funeral. A private grave side service will be planned later. The family request memorials made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
