Caroll L. Franzen

Carroll L. Franzen, 84 of Gilbert, Arizona, formerly of Nokomis, Illinois, passed Wednesday August 7, 2024 at Gilbert Mercy Hospital, Gilbert, Arizona.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:00am at Epiphany Lutheran Church  in Chandler, AZ.   A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 26th at Mt Zion Cemetery in Nokomis, IL at 4:00pm. 

Carroll the son of Louis Franzen and Lucille Franzen Grauer was born January 27, 1940 in Pana, Illinois. He married Janice J. Franzen Meier on September 10, 1967 in Nokomis, and she preceded him in death on April 10, 2018. They have a son Keith Franzen and wife Nancy Franzen with 3 daughters from Gilbert AZ, and daughter Sheila Franzen and partner Cynthia Nustad and 2 daughters from Ventura CA.

Carroll never met a stranger and was always working in one or more jobs most of his life. They included produce manager, grocery store manager, book keeper, handyman, painter, funeral home assistant. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Nokomis IL and Epiphany Lutheran Church, Chandler AZ. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and instilled a love of these things in his Children, and was always tinkering in his garden.  His retirement included adventuring with Janice in their RV around the US and spending time with their grandchildren.

Memorials can be shared with Matthews Crossing, a local foodbank that Epiphany Lutheran Church regularly supported.
