Carole Stauder

Carole C. Stauder, 89 of Nokomis passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 7:03 a.m. at Pana Health and Rehab Center in Pana. She was born on June 30, 1936, in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of Louie “Red” and Blanche (Sanders) Cearlock. She married Donald E. Stauder on August 18, 1956, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2015. Carole was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and CCW. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed holiday decorating, especially Christmas, watching John Wayne Movies and reading.

Carole is survived by her Son: Scott (Nicole) Stauder of Nokomis, IL; Daughters: Marla (Paul, Jr.) Marley of Oconee, IL; Glenda Decker of Nokomis, IL; Sheila (Marc) Gilpin of Marietta, GA; five grandchildren: Kayla (Kamden) Ransdell, Kristen and Mason Stauder; Reagan and Austin Gilpin; seven bonus grandchildren; twelve bonus great-grandchildren, and one bonus great-great-granddaughter, sister: Gayla (Jimmie) Coss of Nokomis, IL; several nieces and nephews that include: Tyson Coss, Brianna Coss, Bill Clotfelter, David (Fon) Clotfelter, Donna (Tom) Spellissy and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son-in-law: Richard Decker.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL and then on Saturday, February 28, 2026, one hour prior to the Funeral Mass that will start at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis with Father Michael Meinhart officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.

Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Catholic School or to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
