He was proud of his Guatemalan heritage and always grateful of the opportunities America gave him, loving this nation dearly. Carlos truly realized The American Dream working and raising his family in Nokomis, IL. His mischievous smile would always light up a room. He was an artist at heart, a captivating story teller, had a wonderful sense of humor, loved his country/western and mariachi music, and was a passionate poet both in reciting and writing. His generous heart touched many throughout his lifetime. His home was always open to friends and family, never turning anyone away who needed help. He will be dearly missed and remembered with love by all of those who knew him well.
