Carl K Spears

Carl K. Spears, 90, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Services for Carl K. Spears will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Mr. Spears was born September 5, 1932 in Fillmore to Gladys (Brown) and Elbert Spears.  He graduated from Coffeen High School and went on to obtain his Associates Degree.  He served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force.  He and Darline Arter were married October 19, 1952 in Carlinville and were married for 66 years before her passing on November 25, 2018.  Mr. Spears was a banker and businessman for many years.  He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Lions Club, Rotary, Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.

He is survived by his children Pamela (Allen) Mehochko of Nokomis, Patricia Spears of Virginia, Wesley (Anna) Spears of Hillsboro and Jeffrey (Shelli) Spears of O’Fallon; grandchildren Brianna, Matthew, Tina, Jeremy, Brendon, Sally, Jennifer, Miranda, Rebecca and Bri; 10 great grandchildren and sister, Janet (Roger) Blankenship of Nokomis.
