Blake Michael Edward Ellis, 36, of Nokomis. IL, passd away on December 3rd, 2020 at 12:21am at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro,IL, the son of Jeffrey and Tammara (Dunbar) Howell of Nokomis and the late Edward Ellis Jr. of Chillicothe, was a graduate of Nokomis High School Class of 2002 and the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He was a proud member of I.U.E.C. Local 55 as an elevator mechanic for Thyssenkrapp. Growing up Blake developed a love of waterfowl hunting from his dad and continued this passion into adulthood. He could be found most mornings, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, at Carlye Lake throughtout all waterfowl seasons. Blake had an Amazon Prime and PBR addiction and proudly sponsored the Shaft Shakers women's bowling team. In his free time he enjoyed sharing memes and trolling on the internet, where he spent many days in Facebook jail. Perhaps the only thing greater than Blake's love for hunting was his heart for helping and giving to others. He had the biggest heart, gave the best bear hugs, and never knew a stranger.
Blake is preceded in death by his grandparents Edward Ellis Sr. of Chillicothe and Jan Garcie of Zwolle, LA: father Edward Ellis Jr.; uncles Allen Whitson of Redondo Beach, CA and Gerald Howell; cousins Drew Bannister of Chillicothe and Jacob Garner. He is survived by his parents Jeffrey and Tammara Howell; siblings Callie (Ron) Henry of Nokomis, Valen (Leyla) Howell of Fort Bragg, NC, Kenzie (Ben) Cunningham of Carrollton, TX; girlfriend Tara Brown and children all of Nokomis; grandparents Helen Ellis of Azle,TX, Ronald and Nora Howell of Carthage, and Kenneth and Kathleen Dunbar of Chillicothe; nieces and nephews Chloe, Emma, Jeffrey, Grayson, Scarlett and Logan as well as many. many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Nokomis at 211 E. South St, Nokomis, IL, on Wednesday, December 9th, from 4-8pm. No other services will be held Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home is helping with the arrangements. The family is asking for all memorials to be sent to the Carlyle Lake Waterfowlers Association.
