Elizabeth “Betty” D. Hagemeier, 93, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Betty was born July 5, 1932 to George Yurgin and Amelia Lemasters. She met Dwain Hagemeier and they married July 1, 1951 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis. He preceded her in death June 11, 2025. Betty was a “Farmer’s Wife” and everything that entailed. She did whatever was needed on the farm and was the number one employee, because she was the heart of the farm, doing everything that was needed so Dwain could do the farming. She was a member of a quilting guild and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Every one of her children, grand children, and great-grand children have a hand made quilt. Her life revolved around her children, grand children and great-grand children, their lives, and their sporting events.
Betty is survived by her children, Dennis (Christine) Hagemeier, of Litchfield, Ohio, Denise McFarland, of Nokomis, Curt (Tina) Hagemeier, of Morrisonville, Jolene (Dennis) Regan, of San Juan Capistrano, Ca; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dwain.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 9 am to 11 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis. A celebration of life will follow at 11 am with Pastor Christen Prumm officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to Montgomery County Breast Cancer Support Group.
