Barbara Kay (Niemi) Ruffing

Barbara Kay Ruffing, 68, of Nokomis passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois.

Barb was born September 10, 1952 to Rufus and Lillian (Behnke) Niemi.  She was a graduate of Nokomis High School.  She married Henry “Hank” Ruffing on December 30, 1969 in Nokomis.

Barbara was employed by the State of Illinois as an Account Supervisor. 

In addition to her husband, Hank she is survived by her daughters Sarina M. O’Malley of Nokomis and Jessica L. (Michael) Martin of Plainfield; sister, Kathy (Ed) Hargrave of Bingham; brother Carl (Norma) Niemi of Coalton; grandchildren Mackenzie (Seth) Bowers, Dolan O’Malley, Mia Martin and Sophia Martin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Kevin O’Malley.
