Barbara M (Friesland) Johnson

Barbara Marilyn "Babs" Johnson, 87 of Nokomis, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 9:05 AM at Pana Community Hospital.

A private funeral service will be conducted with burial at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Nokomis.  Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Johnson was born November 19,1933 in Nokomis to Alice (Baxter) and Cecil Friesland.  She married Ray E. Johnson on August 10, 1951 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Nokomis.  He preceeded her in death on August 6, 2009.

She had worked as a telephone operator and was a farm wife.

Babs was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Nokomis, a member of Ladies Aid and was a charter member of church's hand bell choir.

She is survived by her daughters Kay (Steve) Lee of Nokomis, Lisa (Scott) Henrichsmeyer of Coalton and Joan (Dave) Wall of Moro; grandchildren Darci Harrison, Trisha Taylor, Tara Hampton, Corey (Emily) Lee, Abbey (Josh) Spencer, Heather (Brian) Thompson, Heath (Candi) Estes, Amanda (Josiah) Kirk, David Wall, Jeffrey  (Heather) Wall; 13 great grandchildren with one on the way.

In addition to her husband Mrs. Johnson was preceeded in death by her parents, son Neil Johnson on December 1, 2006 and her brother, Charles Friesland.

Memorials can be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church both of Nokomis or Montgomery County Cancer Association.
