Ayden O'Malley Obituary

Ayden Noelle O’Malley gained her angel wings on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Ayden, the daughter of Dennis M. and Rosalind R Johnson O’Malley, was born December 27, 2003 in Springfield, Illinois.

Ayden was the "baby" of her family and enjoyed many of the spoils that come with that title.  She completed her family and made every day a joy for them.  Many can remember her at a young age wearing her Nokomis Redskin cheerleading uniform cheering beside her sister or in the stands cheering at her brother's football games.  She was involved in dance classes for many years and especially loved Hip-Hop.  She was a past member of several soccer teams.

Ayden was an 8th grader at St. Louis Catholic School, never missing the honor roll.  She was a member of the SLS Children's Choir, and would often join in singing during weekly masses as well as school masses. She was a previous member of the SLS Scholastic Bowl team, Hawks basketball team, and CHAOS youth group.  Ayden was very athletic and bright.  She was a player on the Nokomis Lady Braves volleyball team where she played the libero position.  She was also a 2nd baseman and center fielder for the Lady Braves Softball team where she led the team in stolen bases and had received the team "Spirit" Award for being a role model to her team.

She had MANY friends and loved to go to all of the Braves games, especially the Lady Brave's basketball games, announcing her friends as they took the court.  She volunteered collecting food for the Food Pantry,  painting the newly remodeled Nokomis Christian Missions, helping the little ones shop at the Santa Store at the Winter Wonderland, as well as helping at many fundraisers for her school and church.  Ayden enjoyed slumber parties, music, Snapping, Starbucks Coffee, hanging out with her friends, family and cousins.  She brought a vibrant spirit wherever she was.  Ayden loved her roll as aunt to her two-year old nephew spending as much time with him as she could.

She is survived by her parents, sister Amber (fiancé Bryant Wright) O’Malley of Blue Mound, brother Nick O’Malley of Nokomis, nephew Brody Wright, grandparents Denny & Doris O’Malley of Nokomis, Mike & Gaylyn Casey of Nokomis, Larry & Gail Johnson of Fillmore, great grandfather Ernie & Mary Ann Pieper of Deer Park, Texas, many aunts, uncles, cousins-especially Alexandra and Lauryn Miller, Seth Johnson and Spencer O'Malley, friends, teammates, teachers, coaches, youth leaders, priests, neighbors, and lives she touched.  She was preceded in death by her cousin Danial Miller who loved her very much.
