Andrew D. “Andy” Jackson, 61, of Nokomis, IL, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL.
He was born on November 19, 1957, in Hillsboro, IL, a son of the late Willie M. & Alice (Klee) Jackson.
Andy graduated from Nokomis High School and raised German Shepherds for several years. He was a member of the Kennel associations including the Continental Kennel Club, American Kennel Club and the American Canine Association.
Andy was known for being a loner, most of the time, but those he shared his time with were great friends. Andy was also known for being difficult at times but had a big heart underneath it all. He enjoyed being in the country and raising, and loving his dogs.
Andy is survived by his sister, Marsha Arkebauer of Oconee; nephew, Bob Arkebauer; and great niece, Nicole Arkebauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, David Arkebauer; nephew, Willie Joe
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 at 12:30 P.M. at the Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Pastor Chris Huff, minister of Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:30 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery in Oconee, IL.
