Amanda Rosa Hubbard, 74, of Nokomis passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home; 200 E State Street, Nokomis. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church; 204 North Pine Street, Nokomis.
Amanda was born September 12,1950 in Charleston to William and Tillie (Wiltermood) Sexson, they preceded her. She attended college and earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree where she was named in Who’s Who. She and Marc Hubbard were united in marriage on June 26, 1982 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis and he survives.
She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis. Her family says Amanda was a jack of all trades, highly intelligent, loving, kind and very giving. Often she was called Mom as she helped and cared for so many.
Mrs. Hubbard was employed with Buske Truck Lines in Litchfield as their safety manager for many years and also worked for Sunshine Publishing Company in Litchfield, Alco and had been the professional cook for Montgomery Terrace in Nokomis.
Amanda was an avid fisherman and had been on the national team of the Women’s Professional Circuit, was a member of Bass and Gals, Bass Masters and was filmed with Jimmy Houston on Outdoors Cooking.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her son, Jack Hubbard.
She is survived by her husband, Marc; daughter, Denise (Brent) Richardson of Taylor Springs; grandchildren, Ian (Katie) Redman of Chapel Hill, TN, Cole (Celine) Calame of Carbondale, Bella Richardson of Taylor Springs, Dakota Bandy of Litchfield and Raymond (Caryn) Taylor of Minneapolis, MN; brother, Bob (Jeri Gurenz) Sexson of Shelbyville.
