Allan Dean Pavolko

Allan Dean Pavolko, 92, passed away Monday September 1st, 2025 at 2:30am at his home with his family by his side.

Allan was born March 22, 1933 in Nokomis, Illinois to Thomas and Marie (Lemay) Pavolko. He answered the call to serve in the United States Army. After his time in the military he returned to Nokomis and began working at Kroger in the meat department as a butcher where he worked for 72 years. He was a phenomenal bowler, bowling at least 3 perfect 300 games. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children; Jaime Shivers, LeeAnn Pavolko, Dale Pavolko, Tim (Lisa) Pavolko and Nellena Pier; Step-children; Rodger Leigh, Darrel (Carol) Leigh, and Ralph Leigh; Grand children; Skyler Pavolko, Zyler Pavolko, Trevor Harrison, Jason Shivers, Jenny Shivers, Michael Shivers, James Brown, Jared Brown, Blight Pavolko, Charlie Pier, and Chase Pier and step-granchildren; Greg Leigh, Bill Leigh and Mark Leigh; 4 great-grandchildren,and his special “Little One,” Harper Harrison.

In addition to his parents, Allan was preceded in death by, his wife Evelyn Pavolko; his brothers, Thomas “Tommy” Pavolko, Ralph Pavolko, Larry Pavolka, Dennis Pavolko and stepdaughter Doris Shaw and daughter-in-law, Toni Leigh.

A visitation will be held at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis on Thursday September 4th, 2025, from 11 am until 1 pm. In celebration of his life, a Funeral Service will follow at 1pm, officiated by Pastor Ryan Follis.

Burial will follow at Nokomis Cemetery.
