Alberta Lorene (Schweizer) Quattlander

Alberta L. Quattlander, 98, of Nokomis, IL passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 2:36 A.M. at the Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs, IL.

She was born on December 16, 1923 in Rountree Township, a daughter of  Walter & Edna (Engelhart) Schweizer.

Alberta married Ivan Quattlander on March 26, 1944 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis, IL. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2007.

Alberta grew up on a dairy farm.  Her and her husband, Ivan continued in the dairy business for nearly 50 years.  She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Nokomis.  She attended services regularly until she was called home.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially being called GiGi.  She lit up when they were around.  She was a wonderful cook and will be remembered for her apple pie, frosted angel food cakes, homemade chicken and noodles and Sunday roast.

Alberta is survived by her daughter, Linda (Keith) Bland of Maryville, IL; son, Marlin (Jill) Quattlander of Nokomis, IL; grandchildren, Brooke (John) Wiemers, Matt (Katrina) Quattlander, Robin (Cody)Kleiner, Lindsey (Broderick) Lawson, & Shawn (Sarah) Bland; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Schweizer of Nokomis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Wilma Hagemeier & brother, Melvin Schweizer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis, IL. Pastor Chris Prumm will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will take place in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis or Zion Lutheran School in Litchfield.
