Paula Irene Beck 72, of Witt, IL., passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 9:42 am in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL. Paula the daughter of Eldo Laverne and Pauline Frankie (Burroughs) Smith was born December 15, 1948 in Marion, IL. Her companion of thirty years Michael Dean Snyder Sr. passed away August 11, 2016.
Paula is survived by children Pamela Sue Scott of Witt, grandchildren Jared Bess, Shania Bess and her first great grandchild is on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, companion and siblings Doris Stine, Laverne Smith and Raymond Lee Smith.
There will be no Services.
Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home is serving the family.

Pam,
We are both so heartbroken by Paula’s sudden passing. When you reach our age you understand, the age of 72 is way too young!
I will always remember her quick, easy laugh—my favorite memory. I was making a pie yesterday, and was thinking about the time she and I were making pies together, on one of our visits. I watched her roll out a pie crust. She showed me, if you turn the curst over while you’re rolling it out, it rolls easier. I’ve been doing it ever since, and it’s funny, I always think of her when I do.
She was such a loving person. She was an angel for the love and patience she gave Mike, and everything she did for him. No other woman could have done more.
I can only imagine how much Shania and Jared are hurting too—I know Paula was a wonderful grandmother. (As you will be—Congratulations!) Please give them our best and our love too.
Feelings are so hard to put into words, but we hope you can feel our virtual hugs holding you tight!
