Junior F. Franzen, 91, of Nokomis passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 5-7 p.m.at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis.

Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the the funeral home with the Reverand Gary Sproat officiating.  Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetary in Nokomis.

Junior was born on August 30, 1927 to the late Frank and Dorothy Caroline (Siefert) Franzen.  He married Betty Mae Blazich on April 11, 1953 at St Louis Catholic Church. 

Mr. Franzen graduated 8th grade from Prairie School/Fawn Creek School and enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Fort Leonardwood, California and Alaska during the Korean conflict. He was a farmer and former director of the Witt Bank. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, the Farm Bureau and the Americal Legion.

In addition to his wife, Betty he is survived by his three children, Michael Paul (Cindy) Franzen of Nokomis, Mark Franklin (Kim) Franzen of Aurora and Gail Marie (Kevin) Tuetken of Hillsboro.  In addition Mr. Franzen is survived by grandchildren:  Christopher Franzen, Corey Franzen (Samantha), Elizabeth Thackrey (Jeb), Jeremy Tuetken (companion Bailey Heintz) Joshua Tuetken, Jordan Tuetken.  Great grandchildren include Brady Franzen, Harper Thackrey, Kinley Thackrey, Tristan Franzen and Baby Franzen on the way. 

He was preceeded in death by his brothers Harold Franzen and Arthur Franzen.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary Cemetery-Nokomis, Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and Waples Bauer Post 94 Nokomis American Legion.
