Cletus Lehman, 93, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 into Jesus’ Arms.
He was born on February 11, 1922, the son of Otto and Augusta (Engelman) Lehman of Nokomis. Cletus proudly served as a sergeant in the Marines during World War II. He received the purple heart after he was wounded in Okinawa during the taking of Sugar Loaf Hill.
After the war, Cletus married Jean (Miller) Lehman on May 2, 1951. She survives.
The couple has two daughters, Patty Monson (fiancee’ James) of Kansas City, MO, and Bonnie Brown (Harlan), of Harvel. They have three grandchildren, Chad (Samantha) of Farmersville, Todd (Amy) of Raymond, and Stacey (Dennis) of Lee’s Summit, MO; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn of Raymond, and Samantha and great-great-grandson Landon, of Lee’s Summitt, MO, and special daughter, Nancy Waterman of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Lehman, and sister, Nadine Lovell.
Cletus was a farmer all of his life; he also worked with explosives at Hulcher Quarry and was a milkman. He served on the Nokomis Ambulance Board for many years.
Private family services will be held and family and friends may offer condolences to Jean at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, where she resides.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pat, you and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I didn't know Cletus but it sounds like he lived a good and honorable life and he was deeply loved by his family. What a wonderful gift he must have been to the three of you and you to him.
