Richard “Dick” Langjahr of Nokomis (formerly of Peoria) was born September 8, 1939, to Herman and Alice (Moser) Langjahr and born into eternal life at his home on January 10th, 2017, at 10:42am.  Dick is survived by his wife, Susan Leber Langjahr, five daughters; Natasha (David) Straayer of Parker, Co, Tanya (Ron)Barnes of Naperville, IL, Tara (Ryan) Follis of Nokomis, IL, Tatianna Langjahr of Denver, Co, Kim (Robert) Eacott of Gilbert, AZ; two sons, Kevin (Tracy) Pogue of Peoria, IL, and Kyle Pogue of Ft. Collins, CO; and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Stanley, and his sister, Phyllis Riggenbach. 
 
Dick was a U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Bremerton in the Pacific from 1957-1960. He graduated from Midstate College with a degree in accounting.  Dick served as a Catholic Lay Missionary and Administrator of St. Augustine Manor prior to his retirement in 2003. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Valley Striders and the St. Augustine Community Fund. He was a life member of the Republican National Committee and U.S.S. Bremerton Retirees Association. He was a recipient of the Pere Marquette Award from the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. Dick was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL. 
 
Visitation will be held Friday, January 13th, 5-7pm, at the Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis, IL. Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, January 14th, at 10am at St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis IL. Committal Service and Military Rites will be at 3:30pm, Saturday, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Peoria, IL.
