Rose Marie Clavin, 81, of Nokomis passed away July 15, 2014 at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 23, 2014 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL.

Rose Marie was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Nokomis, the fifth of 12 children of Lester and Caroline (Hoehn) Epley. She married Lawrence James Clavin on Aug. 11, 1956, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. He died in 1995.

She is survived by three children: Pam Keller of Creve Coeur, MO, Dan (Monica) Clavin of Nokomis and Beth Heldebrandt of Mattoon; 10 grandchildren: Rebekah Keller and Victoria Keller of Creve Coeur, MO, Random (Amanda) Clavin of Ramsey, Lindsey (Jason) Runde of Teutopolis, Marcus Clavin, Allison Clavin, Kendall Clavin, Delaney Clavin and Ben Clavin, all of Nokomis, and Alex Heldebrandt of Mattoon; two great-grandchildren: Charlie Clavin and Nicolas Clavin of Ramsey; two daughters-in-law: Patsy (Chance) Warnisher and her daughter, McKinzi, of Ramsey and Tricia (Jim) Havera of Nokomis; three brothers: Robert Epley of Manteno, IL, Louis (Pat) Epley of Nokomis and Leo Epley of Washington, IL, six sisters: Rita Spannagel of Taylorville, Lorraine (Earl) Halford of Harristown, Berniece (Myron) Tuetken of Irving, Mary Ann (Kent)  Stortzum, of Dieterich, Ruth Herpstreith of Morrisonville and Barb (Dan) Drewes of Chatham; two sisters-in-law, Helen (Don) Huber of Nokomis and Rita Mordacq of Westfield, IN; and one brother-in-law, Robert Canfield of Alvin, TX.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Mike Clavin and Eric Clavin; one brother, Ken Epley; one sister, Marie, in infancy; and several brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.

Mrs. Clavin and her husband were dairy farmers in rural Rosamond during most of their married life. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Altar Society (Council of Catholic Women) Foresters, Montgomery County Farm Bureau and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was an avid community volunteer and a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
