James Ray "Scotty" Sneddon 72 of Nokomis, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his home in Nokomis. 

Scotty the son of James McGarity Sneddon and Normagene I. Spinner Sneddon was born December 3, 1946 in Pana, IL. He married Shirley E. Simmons May 21, 1966 in the United Methodist Church, Nokomis, IL.  She survives as do children Kimberly Sue Brown, Kerry L. Sneddon and James M. (April) Sneddon, grandchildren Mitchell & Mariah Brown, James D. and Emma Jane Sneddon and Allison Sneddon all of Nokomis, sisters Patricia (Dale) Burg of Springfield, IL. and Kristina (Steve) Shelton of Pawnee, IL.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 am Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Bert Eickhoff officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery.

Our deepest sympathy to everyone. Jimmy was a very special man who was loved by many.Never a dull moment when you were with him. He had the gift of making you smile no matter what. He will be greatly missed. We were so blessed to be part of his family.

From the great number of friends and relatives that mention you fondly on social media (Thank you Shirley), I can tell you have lived a good life! My memories of you predate all of that, but I remember you as a true friend. Rest in peace old pal, and I'll see you on the "Other" side of that 'Ole" Creek one of these days.

Losing someone is never easy but the happy memories that remain allow that person to live on. I have very good memories of Jimmy which will live on in my heart. I will miss him! Shirley, just know that I am praying & thinking of you every day. Love to all of you..

Forever remembered, forever missed!When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. I will miss Jimmy. He made me laugh always at the right time that I need it. RIP cousin!!
